A little bit of history
How it all started
In 1979, our journey began during a time when environmental protection was not considered a priority. We were pioneers in sustainability and have always been committed to eco-conscious practices.
Reinhold Hofmann, a 21-year-old master hairdresser, courageously launched his salon in Nuremberg, at the age of 25 he had 3 Salons around Nuremberg and was setting new standards in the hairdresser business. In the next year, his salon was the most effective throughout Germany in terms of revenue per square meter. But still, this was not enough for him, he wanted to make a difference in the branch and decided to become a distributor.
We know what it's like
Different from other brands, we know what it’s like to be a distributor. Because that’s where our history really started. Reinhold Hofmann began with the brand building and distribution in Germany for a haircare brand from America called: LANZA.
After a few years of hard work, it finally paid off, we established LANZA in the German market. Always thinking ahead, Reinhold Hofmann was not satisfied due to a big gap in the range of LANZA. One key product was missing: Hair Colours.
Essential for every salon, this should be the key to our future success.
A big set back
We received the message in 2002 that in the following year we will lose our rights for distribution of LANZA. So we needed to speed things up. The idea of his own brand was always on his mind.
This is where the journey of PUR HAIR starts, with all the contacts he made in the industry Reinhold Hofmann let his wish become reality.
It is the year 2003 and the beginning of PUR HAIR colour a line of hair colours that are practical to use ,impressive in their effect and affordable for every Salon.
3 Years later another milestone in our journey was completed our new styling series was introduced to the market, PUR HAIR style a range of products that every salon uses daily to make exceptional hair styles and has a product for every stylist.
The range of PUR HAIR was still missing something: A haircare line
5 years later the day finally came, many hours and long days of development with laboratories in America the heart of PUR HAIR came to life: PUR HAIR organic.
A compact haircare range, with the ambition to satisfy all needs for every type of hair. With the goal to make the hair healthier in a long lasting way. Always with the goal to make the product as green as possible but still to maintain its effectiveness.
The last part of our main range is PUR HAIR shades liquid toner which we added in 2021 which is a toning system where the stylists can show all their creativity. The last missing piece to our complete range for the hair salon.

Our Set-Up
We're a close-knit team of about ten, located in the scenic Bavarian city of Schwaig near Nuremberg. Our passion lies in not only delivering top quality hair care products but also in prioritizing environmental protection and meticulously selecting our ingredients.
